Like an oasis on the horizon, Philter Brewing’s new bar is here to quench Sydney’s thirst after a long, hard winter. Located under a retractable roof upstairs at the brewery, Marrickville Springs brings a summery, 80s resort garden bar vibe to the famous local ale trail.

“We wanted Marrickville Springs to have a totally different feel to our Bar and Restaurant downstairs, but it’s still very Philter – it’s all in the retro touches,” says Mick Neil, Managing Director.

Blue Skies, white breeze blocks and pastel tiles evoke Palm Springs, but the space is very much a shoutout to its Marrickville home. A mural by local artist Mielo and the custom neon behind the bar feature bin chickens and palm trees, “The ibis was a given, nothing says Marrickville like a picnic pirate, but the palm trees are a shout out to the area, too. The neighbourhood palms are pretty iconic. We’ve gone for a Marrickvillana theme!” says Stef Constantoulas, Sales and Marketing Director.

Climb the retro stairs at Philter HQ, open the door and you’ll be met with sunshine and… frozen cocktails! To open with a bang, local legends from Jacoby’s are powering the classic cocktail offering at Marrickville Springs. Philter beers will be on tap and in tinnies and there’ll be a tidy wine list.

The menu will be fresh and easy, from classic prawn cocktails to a fancy Aussie cheese plate.

Marrickville Springs will be open for good times from Friday, 22nd October. Walk-ins or large group bookings only. Details available at www.philterbrewing.com.
