January 29th
No Save Point | Moon Dog Craft Brewery
Moon Dog Craft Brewery‘s exciting new release, No Save Point has arrived!
Brewed in collaboration with American hip hop duo Run The Jewels, this 6.5% abv hazy IPA is named after the group’s new song for the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack.
Brewer’s notes describe the beer as having flavours of “bitter orange, sweet grapefruit and a splash of lime” thanks to the additions of Amarillo, Strata and Galaxy hops.
No Save Point is available now.
Picklehead Pilsner, Coffee Cherry Farmhouse Ale and Passionfruit Sour | Sea Legs Brewing Company
Sea Legs Brewing Co.‘s latest editions to the Homestead series include Picklehead Pilsner (4.8% abv), a pilsner blended with pickle brine from Picklehead Pickles.
The Homestead series, which celebrates locally-sourced produce, resulting in fruit and veggie inspired beers, has another new addition this week with the Coffee Cherry Farmhouse Ale (6.0% abv).
The French-style farmhouse ale, brewed in collaboration with Moonshine Coffee Roasters, was fermented on 25 kilograms of coffee cherry.
Sea Legs has also released a 4.5% abv, limited release Passionfruit Sour.
All three beers are available now, both online and directly from the brewery.
Mandarina, Meine Liebe | Hawkers Beer
Hawkers Beer has a new Double NEIPA available for presale now, with orders to ship from Friday, January 29th.
Mandarina, Meine Liebe (9.0% abv) is a tribute to Mandarina Bavaria hops, delivering “juicy characters of mandarin citrus”, according to brewer’s notes.
Tropicana and Lament Configuration | Deeds Brewing
The next addition to Deeds Brewing‘s Milk Bar Series, Tropicana (7.7% abv), is an Imperial Cream Sour brewed with Mosaic and Sabro hops.
Paying homage to local corner stores throughout Australia, this tropical addition to the series features pineapple, lime, coconut, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and milk sugar.
Deed’s second upcoming new release is Lament Configuration (9.0% abv), a Wheat DIPA with Southern Cross, Eclipse and Citra hops.
Both new beers are available now for preorder from the Deed’s website for release from February 3rd.
January 22nd
Barrel Aged Gose with Lemon Myrtle | Stomping Ground Brewing Co.
Stomping Ground has announced its first release of 2021 with a very limited edition, 4.5% abv German-style Gose.
As its name suggests, the gose had native lemon myrtle added prior to it being aged for 15 months in French oak wine barrels.
The Barrel Aged Gose with Lemon Myrtle is available now online, from the Stomping Ground Beer Hall or from local independent bottleshops.
Talus | Akasha Brewing Company
The Akasha Project‘s latest release puts Talus hops in the spotlight (and the name).
The Talus IPA (6.8% abv), originally part of the Beer Cartel Christmas Canvent Calendar, features the relatively new hop, previously known by the designation of HBC 692cv.
Brewer’s notes tell beer lovers to expect flavours of “pink grapefruit, citrus rind, pine resin and tropicals”.
Hop The Wall | TWØBAYS Brewing Co.
TWØBAYS Brewing Co. is releasing its 11th packaged brew, based on classic West Coast IPAs.
Hop The Wall (6.0% abv) features Cashmere, Zappa and Chinook hops, hopped twice to give it flavours of pine and citrus.
January 15th
Wax Flower Sour | Modus Operandi Brewing Co.
Inspired by the unusual native plan Geraldton Wax, the Wax Flower Sour from Modus Operandi is a 6.9% abv summer sour.
According to Modus, it has citrus and floral characteristics and comes in a ‘retro’ 500ml can.
Bowlo Bitter | Young Henrys
Young Henrys has announced the release of a new collaborative beer with local alt-country folk band Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys.
Brewed with Cascade hops, Bowlo Bitter (4.4% abv) is a Reschs-style bitter aimed at supporting local musicians and bowling clubs.
The keg-only limited release will be available at select venues from mid-January corresponding with the band’s East Coast tour of their favourite New South Wales bowling clubs.
Groundhog Haze | Moon Dog Craft Brewery
Moon Dog’s new release is a “citrus-y, apricot-y and grapefruit-y” Hazy IPA brewed with Idaho 7, Citra and Strata hops.
Groundhog Haze (6.2% abv) is a “deep golden and orange colour” according to brewer’s notes and is available in Victoria now, with release across the rest of the country to come later this week.
Lime Sweetart Sour Ale, Summer Juice Fresh Ale, Yuzu Sweetart Sour Ale | Bright Brewery
A trio of new and returning beers from Victoria’s Bright Brewery includes the return of the 4.3% abv Lime Sweetart Sour Ale, with added Tahitian and Australian desert limes.
Meanwhile, with notes of pineapple, guava, and tangerine the Summer Juice Fresh Ale at 5.7% abv and the 4.3% abv Yuzu Sweetart Sour Ale with Eurobin’s Mountain Yuzu make the summer lineup.
All three are available now from the brewery and online, and will be available from stockists around Australia shortly.
Homegrown Session IPA | Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.
The latest release in Bad Shepherd’s IPA series, Homegrown Session IPA (4.0% abv), showcases Eclipse hops alongside all-Victorian ingredients of Melbourne Ale yeast and Barret Burston malt.
With flavours of “sweet mandarin, zesty citrus and fresh pine”, the Homegrown Session IPA is available online now.
