New Beer Releases: February

February 26th


Fuzzy Bird | Hop Nation Brewing Co.

Hop Nation Brewing Co.‘s latest release is an all New Zealand double dry hop showcasing Riwaka, Taiheke and Nelson Sauvin.

The hazy IPA also features kiwifruit juice and flavours of pineapple, mango and gooseberry according to brewer’s notes.

It is available now from the brewery and online.


Aluminium Monster | Mountain Culture Beer Co.

Mountain Culture has a new 10% abv release with Aluminium Monster.

The NEIPA spotlights Citra hops, giving it a “subtle lychee finish”.

It is available now both online and from the taproom.


Keyboard Warrior and Daydreaming In Autumn | Deeds Brewing

Named for the “big typers with big opinions”, Keyboard Warrior (10% abv) is a Hazy TIPA brewed with Simcoe Cryo, Ekuanot, Idaho 7 and Citra hops.

Deeds Brewing‘s second new release is the Daydreaming In Autumn double dry hopped hazy pale, brewed with some of the brewery’s favourite New Zealand hops including Kohatu, Wakatu, Wai-iti and Mosaic.

Pucker Up | Capital Brewing Co.

To celebrate the forthcoming Australian Love Stories exhibition, Canberra’s Capital Brewing Co. has created a new ale which it says is designed to reflect the sometimes sweet, sometimes sour nature of romantic love.

Pucker Up (4.5% abv) is a pear and elderflower sour which showcases “a lovely hint of sweetness and a silky mouthfeel thanks to 250kg of pear and the addition of lactose.

“Dried elderflower petals added hot side, and dry-hopped elderflower syrup adds subtle earthy, floral aromas. It finishes tart making it a refreshing, sessionable, summer love story,” Capital said.


Coral Cay IPA | Hemingway’s Brewery

Hemingway’s Brewery in Far North Queensland is releasing its latest beer, an IPA.

It is set to replace The Endeavour in our core range and the beer story is a nod to a location close to Port Douglas, the Coral Cay IPA.

The 6.5% abv beer brewed with Chinook, Simcoe, and Mosaic is available on tap only for now, with cans available May 2021.


Gone Green | Colonial Brewing Co.

Colonial Brewing Co. has announced the upcoming release of a double dry-hopped IPA, in celebration of the installation of 100 kilowatts of solar power at the brewery.

Brewed with Amarillo, Simcoe and Rakau hops, Gone Green (8.2% abv) will be available from Monday, February 15th.


Triplicity | Hawkers Beer

Originally planned for a later release, Hawkers Beer’s Triplicity (8.2% abv) was made available early following Victoria’s five-day lockdown.

The Double NEIPA features a trio of Cascade, Citra and Centennial hops, giving the beer a “bright, citrusy, and lightly resinous profile” according to brewer’s notes.


Inversion High Density Hop Charge, Penicillin Cocktail Sour and Pineapple Dream | Bright Brewery

Bright Brewery has announced three new limited releases for this month, starting with Inversion High Density Hop Charge (8.4% abv).

The imperial hazy IPA features Citra Incognito, El Dorado pellets, Amarillo Cryo and Simcoe Cryo hops.

Bright’s second release, Penicillin Cocktail Sour (7.0% abv), was aged in Scotch Whisky barrels and blended with ginger, lemon and honey, giving it smoky, citrus-y and ginger flavours.

The third release is the Pineapple Dream nitro milkshake ale (6.2% abv), brewed with 30% pineapple juice.

All three new beers are available online, from the brewery and in Victorian stockists with other states to follow soon.


Brew Crew #13: Lychee & Green Tea Lager | Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.

Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.‘s Jamie is behind the brewery’s latest addition to the Brew Crew series.

The Lychee & Green Tea lager (4.0% abv) is inspired by Jamie’s love of bubble-tea and the flavours of Taiwan’s Yilan County where both ingredients grow locally.

The lager is set to be launched at the Bad Shepherd brewpub on Friday 19th at 7pm but will be available online from midday.


Oat Meme, Caribbean Fog and Celtic Rock | Sauce Brewing Co.

Sauce Brewing Co. has announced three upcoming new releases, set to be available over the next three weeks.

Coming this week, Oat Meme (10.0% abv) mocks the oat cream IPA… by being a Triple Dry-hopped, Triple Oat Cream IPA, full of Simcoe, El Dorado and Galaxy hops.

Next week’s release is an old favourite, ready to join the core range.

Caribbean Fog is a 4.6% abv hazy pale showcasing Azacca hops.

Finally, coming out in the first week of March, Celtic Rock (4.8% abv) is a St Patrick’s Day-themed Irish Stout.


Aunty Margs Grapefruit Mezcal Sour | Bodriggy Brewing Co.

Bodriggy Brewing Co.‘s latest release is inspired by the agave-derived spirit, mezcal.

Aunty Margs Grapefruit Mezcal Sour (4.0% abv) features Voyager Red Gum Smoked Malt, giving the beer “a mild charred [and] smokey aroma” and a “bright, pithy grapefruit tartness”.

It is available now from the brewpub and online.

Hazy Pale | Sea Legs Brewing Company

Sea Legs has dropped the latest addition to its Warehouse Series with the Hazy Pale (5.7% abv).

The limited release double-dry hopped hazy features New Zealand hops and a can design by Kiel Tillman.

It will be available from midday, Friday 12th from the brewery.


Berry Parfait Cream Sour | Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.

Bad Shepherd is releasing the last brew in its Summer Sour Series just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The Berry Parfait Cream Sour (5.5% abv) pairs blackberries and raspberries with vanilla and lactose.

The kettle-soured ale will be available online from midday Friday 12th February and from the brewpub starting Sunday. Every schooner or 4-pack bought at the brewpub will also come with a free mini tub of berry sorbet.


Inner Vision | Wolf of the Willows

Inner Vision (6.6% abv) is Wolf of the Willowsfirst limited release of 2021.

The Double Dry-Hopped Hazy IPA is the little brother to the brewery’s 2020 Double Vision.

Brewed with Mosaic, Amarillo and Enigma hops, Inner Vision has flavours of overripe mango, orange, melon and stone fruit, according to brewer’s notes.

It is available for pre-order now, to be released from Friday, 19th February in Victoria, and 22nd February in New South Wales and Queensland.

Wolf of the Willows has also announced a change in pack size for some of its cans.

While the tinnies will remain the same size, the brewery will be slowly migrating its IPA, XPA and Pacific Sour from 6-packs to 4-packs.

Cloud 9 | Akasha Brewing Company

Akasha Brewing Company has announced the return of its popular Akasha Project beer, the Cloud 9 Hazy IPA.

Featuring Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra hops, the 6.2% abv brew has flavours of passionfruit, peach and critus.

Cloud 9 is available now.


RSA | Wayward Brewing Co.

Wayward Brewing Co.‘s February limited release is a hoppy IPA named for its three hops ⏤ Rakau, Simcoe and Amarillo.

RSA (8.3% abv) will be available soon. Keep an eye on Wayward socials for a list of stockists.
