ABOUT BLACK HOPS:

Black Hops Brewing Pty Ltd founded in 2014 on the Gold Coast and has their home base (HQ) in Burleigh. Black Hops has grown to become one of the biggest selling independent craft breweries in QLD and Australia. In March 2019 Black Hops opened a bigger Production Brewery and Taproom in Biggera Waters. Since then Black Hops now has opened a Taproom in East Brisbane and Queensland’s first dedicated barrel-aged beer taproom AWOL in Burleigh Heads.

ABOUT THIS POSITION: 

We pride ourselves on our service at Black Hops and our Taprooms are how most people experience our brand and exceptional service. Being able to connect with the customers and make them feel at home is super important to us and serving good quality food to compliment this is what this role is about.

You will report directly to the Taproom Supervisor and to the Hospitality Operations Manager for the department. This role is based out of our food truck servicing our Brisbane Taproom located in East Brisbane.

This role is required to work Thursday to Sunday weekly working out of our Food Truck. You must have full availability to be considered for this stand-alone kitchen role.

ABOUT YOU: 

As a priority, you will need to fit in with our existing Taproom team. A passion for good beer is ideal but most importantly being able to work in a busy kitchen consistently making great quality food is a must. Exceptional customer service is essential, and so is a positive, friendly attitude. You must be able to manage a whole shift on your feet, work under pressure and be comfortable with manual handling.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Main responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Receive stock, Prepare and store food items in line with Black Hops food safety plan
  • Follow all WHS guidelines and SOPs at all times
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Make quick decisions in the heat of service
  • Assist the Hospitality Operations Manager in writing cost effective menus and specials
  • Ordering stock and dealing with food suppliers

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to work within food safety procedures
  • You will have previous experience in fast-pace food service roles
  • Cash handling and till operation is viewed favourably but not a necessity
  • Able to maintain a clean working area
  • Commercial Cookery / Trade Certificate Desirable

AWARD AND CLASSIFICATION:

This casual role falls under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020.
