Continuing to champion female-identifying and non-binary individuals through their Young Henrys Brewing Scholarship, the grant is back in celebration of International Women’s Day, providing invaluable mentorship to up-and-coming brewers across Australia.

Returning for a second year running, Young Henrys are funding one person’s entire tuition to the Certificate III Food Processing (Micro Brewing) in partnership with TAFE NSW, alongside quarterly mentorship from their own in-house legends including Head Distiller Carla Daunton, Zoe Catterall from the Young Henrys Lab, and Mariel Santiago from the Young Henrys brew house. Rounding off the scholarship, Newtown legends will deck the lucky brewer out in fresh YH threads and a pair of Blundstone boots, bringing the total value of the scholarship to over $10K.

With the hopes to inspire and provide valuable opportunities within the brewing industry for female-identifying individuals and non-binary folk, last year Young Henrys presented Laura Nosworthy as the first ever recipient of the scholarship. Thriving under the guidance of the initiative, Laura made the most of her experience according to Head Distiller, Carla Daunton.

Her enthusiasm to take full advantage of the opportunity was wonderful as she engaged with us and actively sought out learning opportunities here.
