Newtown brewers and distillers, Young Henrys, have received B Corp Certification, seeing them continue their ongoing efforts of sustainability and ethics within the industry.
Given to businesses that initiate, develop and meet high social, environmental and ethical processes across multiple verticals of their business, Young Henrys have aligned with B Corp’s core principles since they started over 10 years ago, and pledge to continue in the years to come.
Seeking to “save the planet one-beer-at-a-time” through the industry-leading and CO₂ fighting Algae Project; encouraging more female-identifying/non-binary individuals to enter the brewing industry with their Brewing Scholarship; empowering their workers with an employee share program; consistent ongoing donations to local organisations such as Newtown Neighborhood Centre, Groundswell, The Dylan Alcott Foundation are just some of the initiatives Young Henrys employ across their business, and what helped them secure B Corp status.
A milestone moment for Young Henrys which sees them join a long list of institutions that share a similar philosophy.
Editors Note: Young Henrys joins brewers Heaps Normal, Capital Brewing, Stone & Wood, Brick Lane, and 4 Pines in obtaining B Corp certification in Australia.
