XPA recall underway

product recall
Eagle Bay Brewing in WA has recalled its XPA in 375ml cans which have been available in Western Australia.

The beers, dated best before 19/04/23, are being recalled due to an issue with unintended secondary fermentation, which can lead to excess alcohol and further carbonation.

The mid-strength XPA is available in single can, 4-pack and carton formats, at BWS, Dan Murphy’s, Liquorland and First Choice, amongst others in WA.

Consumers should not drink or open these products and should be disposed of safely.

Fermentation issues have been identified as an issue with a number of products from brewers, including cider, as well as nitro milkshake ale, sours and other beer styles, some of which have additives to the brewing process.

The IBA has also launched a beer recall information pack for brewers, which includes a comprehensive recall plan.
