Wheaty Brewing Corps Launch
A Font full of Beers brewed in our own Backyard
After pouring everyone elses’ excellent beers over the last eleven years, we figured it was time to start brewing our own – time to install our own stainless and start walking the walk.
So in early 2014 that’s what we did; in the form of a Premier Stainless 600L Brewhouse with three single batch fermentors. Just the right size to play; enabling us to brew whatever, however and whenever we want. Light-footed, nimble brewing with the freedom of Contract and the stability of Stainless.
We figure from time to time we might even be lucky enough to collaborate with some of those excellent Brewers whose beers we’ve poured, and will continue to pour, over the years…
And over Good Beer Wheaty Yeastie in May, that’s exactly what we were lucky enough to do; ‘Spooning’ with some of the best, and lovliest Brewers around: Leo (Birra del Borgo), Stuart (Magic Rock), Shane (Sixpoint – from afar), Tobias (To Øl) and Darren (Doctor’s Orders) overseen by ‘Head Spooner’ Yeastie Boys Stu; making sure the Brewhouse buttons worked whilst wearing his Red Weyermann Overalls.
Now it’s time to sample the fruits of these extraordinary collaborations, in addition to a handful of our own Wheaty Brewing Corps beers.
We’ll be pouring:
Collaborations:
- Rauch Alici (5.5%) Smoked Porter with Anchovies – Yeastie Boys/Birra del Borgo/Magic Rock
- Fug Oats This is Point of Difference (5.8%) Oaty Pale Ale – Yeastie Boys/Sixpoint/To Øl
- Tonic (4.5%) Gin Mix Wit – Yeastie Boys/Doctor’s Orders
Wheaty Brewing Corps:
- Benatar Bitter Sweet Stout
- Flat Benatar (Handpump) ‘low-carb’ Benatar
- Marching Orders Dark Ale
- Corps Promise Rye Pale
We’ll also be screening the world premiere of a (very) local (very) short film ‘The Wheaty Builds a Brewery’, parking a food truck out front from 6pm, and gunning our Schlook Raffle 6-8pm.
Kegs tapped from 6pm, on for as long as they last.
