New South Wales native and local favourite beer brand, Tooheys, has opened The Tedesco Inn to pay tribute to the collective effort of teamwork underpinning the success of Captain James Tedesco and The Westpac NSW Blues.

Celebrating the arrival of the 2023 State of Origin series, the Camden pub, The Plough and Harrow, located in Tedesco’s hometown community, Camden, in Sydney’s West, has been rebranded as The Tedesco Inn.

From 22nd May until 12th July, Tooheys will also donate 50 cents to the Camden Rams, the local footy club of Tedesco, for every schooner of Tooheys sold at The Tedesco Inn.

The Tedesco Inn will open its doors from Wednesday, 31 May, for game one, from 10:00AM until late, and will remain open until the final game is played on Wednesday 12 July. The Tedesco Inn is open to all Blues and Tooheys fans (and even Maroons fans if they wish) at 75 Argyle Street, Camden, for the very first game and games thereafter for the duration of the series.

Chris Allan, Lion Head of Beer, Core, said that the Tedesco Inn was a proud moment for the Tooheys brand, “Sport has a special way of bringing Australians together, but is also the best display of how teamwork can create greatness. Tooheys are proud to host fans at The Tedesco Inn and shine a spotlight on the power of teamwork.”

James Tedesco, captain of the Westpac NSW Blues, shared his excitement about the launch of The Tedesco Inn, “I’m stoked that Tooheys has created this space for fans to come together to watch the State of Origin games this year. It has given me the chance to reflect on all the footy teams in my life, and how valuable the teamwork in rugby league and my community has been,
in helping me get to where I am today in my sporting career. And for that, I’m so thankful.”

“Seeing The Tedesco Inn is an honour, I can’t wait to see it packed with Blatchys Blues cheering us on!” Tedesco continued.

Russ Lowe, Publican at the Plough and Harrow said, “When Tooheys asked me if I would be open to hosting The Tedesco Inn I jumped at the chance. Not only am I a proud supporter of the Camden Rams and watched Teddy grow up on the field, Teddy and his family have been coming to our venue for years – so it was a natural fit. Teddy is the pride of the Camden community!”

This initiative follows Tooheys recent unveiling of its bold new look for its range of beers, with an overhaul of the brand’s packaging; the first major update to Tooheys core packaging since 2015. The packaging revitalisation has been designed to give the beer brand a fresh, modern look, while simultaneously reflecting its rich history and enduring commitment to brewing great,
refreshing beer.
