Melbourne’s Mountain Goat Brewery continues to go from strength to strength as their beers enjoy growing recognition and popularity across the country. Earlier this year a new, larger brewhouse was installed and commissioned at the Richmond warehouse brewery and two Mountain Goat beers had a successful entry into the American craft beer market.

The well-travelled Mountain Goat team have also been popping up at pubs and bars in all corners of the country over the past year, showcasing their ever expanding and evolving range of craft beers. Last month they were in Adelaide at The Wheatsheaf Hotel to help celebrate the pub’s 9th birthday with a special tasting. Next month, the Mountain Goat brewer will be in Brisbane for Queensland Beer Week and a special dinner event at Bitter Suite

This month it is Perth’s chance to meet and drink with the man behind the Mountain Goat story, Dave Bonighton, at Five Bar in Mount Lawley. Goat beers and matching goat food will be the theme of the night.

Along with him Dave will be bringing his recent collaboration beer, brewed withMikkel Borg Bjergsø of Mikkeller, as well as the Rare Breed Rye IPA, which won a prestigious Gold medal at the 2012 Australian International Beer Awards. [JD]

In celebration of Mountain Goat Executive Brewer Dave Bonighton being in Perth he will be hosting a night in celebration of all things Mountain Goat at Five Bar.

On the night Dave will be showcasing two limited release brews – the Rare Breed Rye IPA and Mikkeller Cross Breed ‘Gyspy & the Goat’ Pepperberry Black IPA – and a surprise beer on draught. Alongside these amazing ales these Mountain Goat stalwarts will also be on offer – Steam Ale, Hightail Ale and Mountain Goat 2 Steps Cider.

To accompany this amazing spread of Ales, Nelly and Mitch from the kitchen thought it would be only fitting if we offered up a nose to tail selection of goat signature dishes to match up to the beers.

Festivities start from 6pm so get in early to avoid disappointment. No tickets, No fuss just great beer and great food!
