This is arguably not surprising news…I wrote, only half in jest last year, that I was running a recent photo of Brad Rogers to remind his family what he looked like. Brad is a tireless advocate for craft beer and is heavily involved in just about every aspect of the Australian craft industry, when he’s not building his own own brewery…or that could in fact be the other way around. The CBIA is the result of the efforts of many people, but Brad’s hard work and boundless enthusiasm played an important role in getting it off the ground. Australian Brews News congratulates him and wishes him well, as well as congratulates Dave Bonighton for his election as new Chair of the association.

We also hand over the mantle of busiest man in Australian Craft Beer to Mr Crafty Pint, James Smith.

The CBIA announces the resignation of Chair Brad Rogers

The Board of the Craft Beer Industry Association would like to announce the resignation of Mr Brad Rogers from his positions as Chair and Director of the CBIA.

Brad has resigned due to the increasing demands of running the existing Stone brewery while constructing their new facilities and being a husband and father of four.

Mr Dave Bonighton, the current CBIA Treasurer, has been elected by the remaining Board members as interim Chair.

“On behalf of the Board of the CBIA I’d like to thank Brad for his service,” said Dave.

“Brad was one of the driving forces in the creation of the CBIA and his leadership in our formative years was very important.”

“He leaves the Association in great condition and the work we are putting in to projects such as the 2014 Australian Craft Brewers Conference and the whatiscraftbeer website continues apace,” said Dave.

The Board will now engage in a process to reallocate the office holder positions and to recruit a replacement casual Director who will remain on the Board until the next Annual General Meeting as per the CBIA Constitution.
