Taphouse TV Launch - Q & Ales with... Garrett Oliver
The Local Taphouse will launch their own Taphouse TV online channel with a “Q & Ales” session as part of their bi-monthly Ale Stars events. Q & Ales is inspired by the ABC’s Q&A programme and will feature at occasional Ale Star sessions. Craft beer luminaries from around the world will be beamed live into one of the Taphouses for an hour long discussion with a moderator and the Ale Star audience.
“The October Ale Star session in St Kilda, Melbourne, will be a very special one as we introduce a brand new online video series. Each show, Guy Greenstone will host a live video-link interview and discussion with a different international craft beer luminary. Most Q & Ales with… will be filmed and later posted on a new Taphouse TV channel for anyone interested to watch.
Questions from the live audience are actively encouraged but we will also be inviting craft beer lovers around the country (or world!) to pre-submit their questions either by email or preferably as a video file (using your webcam). There is an awesome prize for the best video question submitted by email. The Best of the Best will be selected by Guy to ask the guest.”
The Local Taphouse is thrilled to announce that our first Q&Ales guest will be Garrett Oliver, brewmaster of the Brooklyn Brewery and one of the world’s foremost authorities on beer. Guy will be chatting to Garrett about his passion for craft beer, beer/food matching, Brooklyn Brewery and the Australian launch of his new book, The Oxford Companion to Beer, the most comprehensive beer book ever published. Advanced copies of the book will be available for sale on the night.
But wait… there’s more! The occasion is also the Australian launch of Brooklyn Brewery’s broader range of beers so there will be samples to try.
Things will kick off around 7pm with the tastings before we cross LIVE to Garrett in New York at 9pm.
