Sponsorship success for the 2014 Beer Awards
The Brewers’ Guild of New Zealand is delighted to announce the return of Craftology as the naming rights sponsor for the 2014 Beer Awards, a prestigious annual event which celebrates excellence in the brewing industry.
“We are very excited to again be a part of this very special event dedicated to brewing and all things beer,” says Super Liquor’s Marketing Manager Lynda-Anne Bodger.
“Craftology is a key brand in the market for our Super Liquor franchisees who are passionate about craft beer. Our sponsorship is our way of giving something back to the NZ brewing community. We are looking forward to another great night!”
Last year’s event saw a record 541 entries, a creditable 35% of which received medals, 41 gold, 50 silver and 97 bronze, all judged by a select group of highly qualified and internationally respected beer judges.
“New Zealand’s vibrant and diverse brewing industry offers the beer connoisseur an ever-increasing range of beer styles to choose from and the Craftology-Brewers Guild Awards event provides a platform to showcase and celebrate the very best” says Ralph Bungard, Brewers’ Guild President.
“The growing importance of the beer industry is a major factor in attracting sponsorship investment which we receive from a range of affiliated industries including agriculture, manufacturing, media and packaging. The grain to glass contribution of the beer industry is around $2.2billion to the NZ economy.”
The 2014 Awards will be announced at a black tie dinner on the 21st of August at Wellington’s Shed 6. Open to both public and industry, the event will once again be hosted by well-known TV personality Te Radar, himself a passionate home brewer.
Along with several trophies dedicated to specific beer styles, the Awards dinner will also include the announcement of Grand Champion Brewery, for the brewery that accumulates the most awards on the night; the Morton-Coutts Trophy for innovation and excellence in the brewing industry; and the Annual Beer Writer of the Year award for outstanding contribution to beer journalism.
