Don’t Beer Late:
Event registration for Good Beer Week 2014 opens October 1st
Event registration for next year’s Good Beer Week festival opens in less than a month.
Described by internationally renowned brewers as ‘The best beer week in the world’, the nine-day celebration will take place from May 17-25, 2014, in venues around Melbourne and regional Victoria.
The festival has grown almost 300 per cent since first launching in 2011, drawing in brewers and beer lovers from five continents. But despite the festival’s rapid growth, organisers have capped next year’s program at a similar level to the 141 events that took place in 2013.
“We’re delighted with the success of Good Beer Week 2013,” says festival director James Smith. “But rather than expand and oversaturate the week, we plan to run a similar number of events and make sure they are of a standard befitting the festival’s national and international reputation.”
Good Beer Week is looking for events that are innovative and creative. The events should take beer outside its usual haunts and place it in front of new audiences. They should excite craft beer lovers as well as appeal to newcomers to craft beer.
“No idea is too outlandish for Good Beer Week,” says Smith, who encourages submissions of entertainment-based events such as music or comedy. “It’s an opportunity for venues to stretch themselves and run incredible events that celebrate the amazing renaissance that beer is enjoying globally.”
Detailed event registration information will be available from October 1st at goodbeerweek.com.au. If you have an event idea but would like guidance or require assistance accessing the wider beer world please email info@goodbeerweek.com.
Registrations close October 31st.
