Reader letter...and a conversation to be had.
We get plenty of great reader letters here at Australian Brews News asking about all sorts of things and things that often lead to stories or investigations. This one, from Simon in Sydney, raises plenty of issues and there is so much complexity to the answer that I though I would throw it open to our readers, both consumers and industry members to comment. Let me – and Simon – know what you think. Does Sydney have a beer culture? Is it improving? Is it reasonable to expect all beers be available everywhere? What do you think readers….
I am a regular reader of brew news, which I greatly enjoy and appreciate as an occasionally homesick ex CAMRA member. I am beginning to despair, in that almost every new update seems to reflect a great beer culture, levels of enthusiasm and innovation everywhere in Australia except NSW and Sydney! Am I living in the wrong state? Help
The beer No1 countdown has been excellent, what again would be useful would be where to get these great beers, some of these exotics seem impossible here, and visiting websites only exacerbates the issue as many excellent microbreweries are limited to their local areas and distribution resources. If the plan is for regional identities by beer and breweries, fine, but unless one can easily travel, I can only dream to sample!
