Product recall: Your Mates Watermelon Sour

Your Mates Brewing Company have issued a product recall notice for all Watermelon Sour 375ml cans purchased from the Your Mates Brewing taproom/cellar door or the online store effective immediately.

The batch may be affected by a secondary fermentation issue which could result in higher levels of alcohol than reported on the packaging and higher levels of carbon dioxide which may result in can seam failure. The source of this issue is still being investigated.

This recall is limited to our Watermelon Sour 375ml cans only.

Your Mates Brewing Company has been working with Qld Health and FSANZ to execute the product recall. As a safety precaution, consumers holding recalled cans are advised to not consume the beer and to contact Your Mates Brewing Co for more information and advice on how to dispose of the recalled product.

The number of cartons sold to the public direct from the Your Mates Taproom and online store has been relatively low (30 x 16 pack). Your Mates are taking measures to contact consumers who may be affected.

There have been no sales into bottleshops or market trade.

Your Mates Brewing Company will be offering a full refund or replacement stock for consumers who have purchased the recalled product. Consumers are asked to provide a receipt or evidence of purchase for refund or replacement requests.

Your Mates has an extensive quality program and takes consumer safety as its highest priority and will be taking any learnings from this issue into it’s future production processes.
