Peter Filipovic gets CUB's top job

AB InBev has announced its new organisational structure for the Asia Pacific South Zone, which includes Carlton & United Breweries.

Under the new structure, the responsibilities of chief operating officer Mike Walsh will be split into separate functional roles for the zone.

“As a consequence, I will be leaving the business soon after change of control, subject to orderly hand-over requirements,” Walsh said in a note to customers.

“I would like to thank you for your support over the past five years that I have spent with CUB.”

Under the new structure, CUB sales director Peter Filipovic has been appointed Australia Business Unit president.

Marketing director Richard Oppy will become vice president marketing – Australia.

On the supply side, Ken Hitchcock has been appointed vice president of supply, and Anton van Heerden becomes vice president of logistics & operational integration for the zone.

These appointments follow the announcement that CEO Ari Mervis will leave the company, with current AB InBev Canada boss Jan Craps to become Zone President for Asia Pacific.

The company name CUB is widely expected to be retained for AB InBev’s Australia Business Unit, although this has yet to be confirmed.

Subject to the relevant approvals, AB InBev is expected to take control of CUB on October 10.
