New Beers Wrap
Noisy Minor Brewing Co ‘Doppelganger’
Noisy Minor Brewing Co‘s March limited-release beer is called the Doppelganger. This 8.1% ABV German India Doppelbock/Hoppelbock style beer was first brewed for the launch of Noisy Minor Brewing Co back in 2013.
Brewed with Galaxy hops and Munich, Pilsner and Crystal Malts, Doppelganger is a big, malty single-hopped lager that takes six weeks to brew. Be warned, there are 3.2 standards drinks in one 500ml can.
Doppelganger is now available in draught and in 500ml cans.
Urban Alley ‘District IPA’
Brewed at The District Docklands, Urban Alley‘s latest IPA gives off tropical fruit aromas of apricot, honeydew, mango and papaya. There are also hints of biscuit, marshmallow and toffee. With a medium-bodied mouthfeel and mild carbonation, the brewery has described this new brew as a bold, fruity and smooth-style IPA.
This Alley Series Brewers Release is now available and comes in at 6.1% ABV.
Australian Brewery ‘Trans-Tasman XPA’
The Australian Brewery is preparing to commemorate ANZAC Day on April 25 with its latest brewing project.
Trans-Tasman XPA has been brewed specifically using all Australian and New Zealand malt and hops. Ex Rifleman at 5RAR and brewer James Howie brewed the beer using Australian Galaxy and Vic Secret hops along with New Zealand Wakatu and Taiheke hops. At 5% ABV, this will be the brewery’s first XPA.
Trans-Tasman XPA will be available Sydney-wide from Anzac Day. The brewery will be donating fifty cents from every litre sold to Legacy.
Capital Brewing Co ‘Hang Loose Juice’
Capital Brewing Co’s first canned special release, Hang Loose Juice, rolled out to bottle shops and venues across NSW and the ACT on Wednesday.
Hang Loose Juice was first brewed as a small-batch, keg-only NEIPA release, which ended up placing #97 in GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beers for 2018. At 6% ABV, the beer is full of blood orange juice and late addition Galaxy, Mosaic and El Dorado hops.
Hang Loose Juice is available on the east coast only. For a full list of stockists visit here.
Bright Brewery ‘Bunny Hop’
Easter has come early at Bright Brewery, with the release of its new Bunny Hop Hoppy Wheat Ale.
Packed with Azacca and Denali hops, Bunny Hop lives up to its name with a huge hop punch and bold, strong flavours. With a pleasant bitterness and creamy mouthfeel, Bunny Hop uses crisp, clean US-05 yeast, which allows the hops to shine through.
A limited-edition, Brewer’s Choice beer, Bunny Hop Hoppy Wheat Ale was brewed as part of Bright Brewery’s Brewer For A Day experience in February.
Bunny Hop Hoppy Wheat Ale was launched at last weekend’s North East Food and Wine Festival and is now available on tap at Bright Brewery and at select retailers in draught only.

Bodriggy Brewing Co ‘Twin Harvest Release’
Bodriggy Brewing has dropped two new-release beers.
Zooter Doozy is a beer-wine hybrid brewed with pinot gris grapes from Little Reddie vineyard in Castlemaine. The pinot gris juice and skins were added in the early stages of a 48-hour kettle sour ferment. The beer has partly fermented off the back of the natural yeast sitting on the skins, which adds a barnyard-y flavour. Bodriggy describes this co-ferment as sour, zesty, puckery, and moreish.
Sun Buzz is a fresh hop Belgian Pale Ale with an “insane” amount of Enigma wet hops from Hop Products Tasmania. During transfer, 50kg of fresh Mornington blood plums was added in the hop back for colour and sweetness. The pairing of a subtle Belgian yeast with the earthy, resiny wet hops makes for a lively, pungent interpretation of a wet hop beer.
