In the lead up to International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March, brewers across the country have been brewing special edition beers in support of the cause.

Siduri Brut | Jetty Road Brewery

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Jetty Road Brewery has released its Siduri Brut.

Brewed by the female staff at Jetty Road, the 6.2% abv IPA sought inspiration from Brut Champagne.

Jetty Road’s brewers say it is dry with a Sauvignon Blanc character from generous late additions of Nelson Sauvin hop.

The brew team for the Siduri Brut included women across the business, from sales, events, marketing, design, front of house and accounts.

It will be available from the 7th March on tap at Jetty Road Brewery.

Mandarin and Grapefruit Fresh Ale | Gage Roads Brewing Co

An all-female team at Gage Roads Brewing Co is celebrating International Women’s Day with a limited release ale.

The brew includes real grapefruit juice along with mandarin and a hop line up that amplifies a citrus and mango flavour.

“The project was an opportunity to highlight the passion of women at many steps of the beer making journey – from brewing, quality, design and marketing,” said the Gage Roads team.

It will be available on tap from March 8th for a limited time at select venues.

FREE THE NEIPA | Young Henrys Brewing

Young Henrys Brewing has released FREE THE NEIPA.

It was brewed specially for this year’s International Women’s Day inspired by the #freethenipple campaign.

Young Henrys say the hazy NEIPA was led by the women of Young Henrys and 10 per cent of profits from the sale of the beer to the Two Good Co, a social enterprise that supports vulnerable women regain their independence.

The beer was infused with bergamot citrus fruit, with Taiheke and Denali, Lemondrop, Azacca, Ariana and the Pink Boots blend at various dry hop stages.

At 5.8% abv it includes Pale, Rolled Wheat and Rolled Oats.

Marion | BentSpoke Brewing Co

BentSpoke Brewing Co‘s Marion has been brewed to celebrate International Women’s Day, inspired by the “alewives”, women who were almost solely responsible for beer making in days gone by.

The beer is an as yet unrevealed style but features The Pink Boots Society’s Hop Blend.

“This beer celebrates the lesser known contributions of women,” according to Tracy Margrain, co-owner and brewer.

“With that in mind, we’ve decided to name the beer Marion, after Marion Mahony Griffin, the architect who helped shape Canberra, but is often forgotten in the city’s narrative.”

BentSpoke’s International Women’s Day beer will launch at the brewpub on Sunday, 8th March.

Frequin Good Cider | Willie Smiths

Willie Smiths has dropped Frequin Good Cider in cans after a sell-out keg release.

Biittersweet and highly-tannic Frequin Rouge apples were used in the cider along with smaller additions of Yarlington Mill, Pink Lady, Fuji and Royal Gala.

“Drinkers want to enjoy these complex, textural ciders at home too, so moving into cans was a natural step,” explained Willie Smith’s co-founder Sam Reid.

It is available for a limited time for visitors to takeaway from Willie Smith’s Apple Shed in Grove, Tasmania.

It is also available in a select number of independent retailers in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, as well as in ACT and Queensland from the first week of March.

Sunset Haze | Endeavour Brewing Co

Sunset Haze is the latest single batch brew pouring at Endeavour Brewing Co.

Endeavour says it is very hazy from the yeast and dry-hopping, with a “fluffy and meringue-like” white head due to its inclusion of oats.

At 6.4% abv it is medium bodied with an upfront fruity and citrus character that finishes reasonably dry.

Hop varieties include Galaxy, Mosaic, Cascade and Citra along with Schooner, Carapils, Malted Oats and Trad Ale malts.

Dayspring Hazy IPA | Bodriggy Brewing Co

Bodriggy Brewing Co has teamed up with Fancy Hank’s restaurant in Melbourne to release a new limited edition IPA.

At 6.7% abv It has been double dry-hopped with Azacca and Cashmere hops and has notes of candied mango, passionfruit and pineapple.

Bodriggy say the beer highlights the Kveik yeast, which gives almost gummy, spiced notes that linger.

It will be available for a limited time in 355ml cans and in kegs.

NEIPA | Burnley Brewing

Burnley Brewing is releasing its NEIPA to a wider audience.

It is currently available at Burnley brewpub and select venues in Victoria and will be available at additional venues on the 10th of March.

At 6.5% abv, Burnley’s brewers say it is juicy, hazy, low-bitterness and full-bodied with stone fruit and tropical aromas.

Northern Beaches Lager | 4 Pines Brewing Company

4 Pines Brewing Co has released a new brew in collaboration with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

The Northern Beaches Lager is currently being canned and will be released in time for kick-off on the 15th March.

At 4.2% abv and 25 IBU it will be available in 375ml cans for a limited time.
