New Beer Releases: November

The latest beer and beverage releases from Australian and New Zealand breweries for November 2020. These are promotional announcements published in partnership with Brews News’ brewery subscribers.


November 27th


Birds of a Feather | Brick Lane Brewing

Brick Lane Brewing is releasing a series of sours in a range of fruity flavours in time for summer.

The limited Birds of a Feather range (6.0% abv) comes in three flavours: passionfruit and guava, mango and lychee, and lime and pineapple, and features can designs from CIP studio.


You Can’t Get Away | Killer Sprocket

As part of Killer Sprocket’s upcoming Killer Brewhouse Series, the brewery is releasing You Can’t Get Away NEIPA (5.8% abv).

The limited-edition brew has grapefruit and tropical aromas with hop flavours of pineapple, stone fruit and passionfruit.

The Brewhouse Series provides Killer Sprocket a chance to experiment with different styles and ingredients that step away from the brewery’s core range.

The series’ official launch on Friday, November 27th from 3pm-7pm and Saturday, November 28th from 1pm-7pm, will feature food trucks as well as the new beer with an outdoor dining celebration.


Howdy Cloudy | Brewmanity

Brewmanity is releasing a Hazy IPA showcasing HPA’s Eclipse hop.

Howdy Cloudy Hazy IPA (7.0% abv) also features Huell Melon and Vic Secret hops and is available for a limited time from bottleshops around Victoria.


S.M.A.S.H | TWØBAYS Brewing Co.

TWØBAYS Brewing Co.’s latest limited edition release, S.M.A.S.H. (single malt and single hop) Pale Ale (4.4.% abv), which came about following HPA’s release of its latest hop variety.

As it has previously done with its Mosaic Session IPA, S.M.A.S.H. spotlights a single hop, showcasing the Eclipse flavours of mandarin, citrus peel and pine, pairing it with the fruity Vienna Millet Malt, according to the brewers.


Dual Double IPA Release | Bodriggy Brewing Co.

In its latest limited release, Bodriggy Brewing Co. has brewed an East Coast IPA and a West Coast IPA, two different styles, but with the same hops – Simcoe, Mosaic and Cashmere.

The Cloudtown Double NEIPA (8.0% abv) features citrus zest, pear zing and pineapple notes.

Meanwhile the Skyblazer West Coast Double IPA (8.0% abv) has notes of resin, pine and citrus as well as malt and caramel, according to Bodriggy.


November 19th


Mixed Dozen Vol. 6 | Fixation Brewing Co.

Fixation Brewing Co. is releasing the sixth volume of its The Incubator Mixed Dozen.

Volume six features four new brews:

  • Deep Green (7.0% abv) – this NEIPA is hopped with Idaho 7 Cryo, El Dorado, Amarillo and Simcoe, giving it notes of pine, citrus, lime and coconut.
  • Straight to DVD (6.5% abv) – a Hazy with hop notes of orange, melon and blackberry.
  • Sparkle and Fade (8.2% abv) – a hoppy West Coast Double IPA.
  • Piece of Cake (6.0% abv) – Fixation’s 5th birthday celebration beer, brewed with Sabro and HBC520 hops to give it flavours of white chocolate, vanilla and coconut.

From Where You’d Guava Be | Young Henrys

Young Henrys is releasing the tenth beer in its Brewers B-Side series.

From Where You’d Guava Be (4.0% abv) is a passionfruit and guava sour, available nationally in venues, bottleshops and the Young Henrys online store this week (from Monday 16th November).


Dream Cake | Moon Dog Craft Brewery

Moon Dog Craft Brewery in collaboration with Danish brewery To Øl has brewed a Drømmekage (Dream Cake) in beer form.

The Danish sponge cake dessert with caramel, vanilla and coconut topping inspired this 8.8% abv Imperial Dark Ale, which is available now from bottleshops in Victoria as well as Moon Dog’s venues. It is also available online for Australia-wide delivery.


Total Eclipse of the Hop and Mango Chirpy Hard Seltzer | Two Birds Brewing

Two Birds Brewing has recreated its 2018 Uncharted IPA following the release of the new Eclipse hop from HPA.

Now brewed as an XPA for Summer, Total Eclipse of the Hop (5.5% abv), has flavours of mandarin and citrus peel according to the brewers.

Two Birds’ second release, Mango Chirpy (4.0% abv), is a new flavour of the brewery’s hard seltzer.

Art of the Deal | White Bay Beer Co.

For the eighth instalment in its IPA program, Sydney’s White Bay Beer Co. is releasing Art of the Deal (6.4% abv).

Brewed with a selection of the brewery’s favourite American hops and cryo hops, the IPA has flavours of citrus and champagne mango.

Art of the Deal will be available from 4pm on Friday, November 19th.


Tepache Spiced Beer | Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.

For this festive release, Bad Shepherd Brewing Co. is releasing an Australian alternative to the spiced dark Christmas ales of the Northern Hemisphere.

Inspired by the traditional Mexican Tepache, this 5.0% abv spiced beer is infused with pineapple rind, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise, creating a light and easy-to-drink beer for a hot Australian Christmas.

Tepache Spiced Beer will be available from midday on Friday, November 19th at the brewpub and online.


Hold The Cream, Dad Jeans and Calculated Risk | Deeds Brewing

Deeds Brewing has announced three upcoming releases this week, all available for preorder now.

  • Hold The Cream (8.8% abv) is an oat IPA minus the lactose. Brewed with Warrior, Cashmere, Azacca Cryo and Idaho 7 hops, Hold The Cream has flavours of citrus and tropical fruit.
  • Dad Jeans, a 7.7% abv California IPA brewed with Mosaic, Strata and Warrior hops.
  • Calculated Risk (6.2% abv), a “spicy and earthy” Dry Hopped Saison brewed with Saaz and Motueka hops.

Cloud 9 | Akasha Brewing Company

Akasha Brewing Company has announced the return of its Cloud 9 Hazy IPA (6.2% abv).

Brewed with Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra hops, Cloud 9 is available now.


Like Old Times | Black Hops Brewing x The Village Pickle

Sunshine Coast cafe, bar and barbeque joint, @thevillagepickle, has collaborated with @blackhopsbeer on the Gold Coast to create a West Coast IPA and fermented hot sauce combo.

Like Old Times came from bar ownder Brendan’s 14 years as a commercial brewer and knowledge of fermentation – which he decided to focus on food and hot sauce rather than brewing. Yet his passion for the craft beer community remains, hence his collaboration with Satoshi from Black Hops.

The combo is designed to go with burgers and each other, and is available exclusively from Black Hops brewery and The Village Pickle.


November 13th


I Go To Rio | Jetty Road Brewery

Jetty Road’s new I Go To Rio hazy pale, brewed in collaboration with Craft Cartel, is now available exclusively from the Dromana taproom.


XL Extra Lager | Mountain Goat

XL is a “hop-forward and refreshing lager” according to the brewers at Mountain Goat, brewed with a blend of Simcoe, Enigma and Centennial.

The 4.9% abv beer underwent an extended cool-temperature fermentation with German lager yeast and is available in 375ml cans.


Twin Suns XPA | Holgate Brewhouse

Holgate Brewhouse’s Twin Suns XPA (5.5% abv) is brewed with Azacca, Citra, Idaho #7 and Mosaic hops, giving the beer notes of pineapple, citrus and stone fruit.


Eclipse® IPA | Akasha Brewing Company

Following the recent commercialisation of the new HPA-016 hop, Eclipse®, Akasha Brewing Company has released a new brew of the same name.

The Eclipse® IPA (6.8% abv) features flavours of mandarin, citrus peel and pine, and is available now online, from the Akasha taproom or at a local stockist.


Persistence | Wolf of the Willows

Wolf of the Willows, in collaboration with The Gospel Whiskey, is releasing a Rye Barrel Aged Imperial Stout — the third beer of the #barrelexchangeproject.

Persistence (12.2% abv) is named for the hardiness of the ‘rye’ grain, acting as a symbol for these unprecedented times.

After being aged for six months in hand-selected Rye Whiskey Solera barrels from The Gospel Distillery, the Rye Imperial Stout has flavours of molasses, liquorice, dark chocolate, spices and roast.

Persistence will be available from Friday November 13th from indie bottleshops around Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.


And Everything Under The Sun Is In Tune and Milk Bar Series: Blueberry & Raspberry | Deeds Brewing

Deeds Brewing’s latest NEIPA is another brew showcasing the brand new Eclipse® hops.

And Everything Under The Sun Is In Tune (6.5% abv) has flavours of mandarin and stone fruit and is available now from the Deeds online store.

Deeds’ second new release is another addition to the brewery’s Milk Bar Series.

The Blueberry and Raspberry Imperial Cream Sour (7.7% abv) is packed with blueberries, raspberries, vanilla and milk sugar and is available online now.


Lifestyle You Deserve | Bodriggy Brewing Co.

Bodriggy Brewing Co. has released a new sour in time for Summer with the Lifestyle You Deserve Applemelon Hazy Sour (5.3% abv).

The Sour will be released on Monday, November 16th and is available now for preorder.


Hype Boi | Bright Brewery

Bright Brewery has released its new Oat Cream NEIPA.

Hype Boi (6.9% abv) is brewed with Bru-1, Azacca, Rakau, and Idaho-7 hops, as well as lactose.

It is available now in Victoria and will be released nationally in the coming weeks.


November 6th


Earl of Swirl | Stone & Wood Brewing Co.

Stone and Wood has released its ninth Counter Culture limited release with The Earl of Swirl (6.9% abv).

Made with 1,000 litres of blackberry, 400 litres of raspberry in addition to lactose and vanilla bean, the berry cream sour is available now online or in Stone & Wood taprooms.


Passionista | Wayward Brewing Co.

Wayward Brewing Co.’s popular Passionfruit & Yuzu Berliner Weisse is making its return as a November limited release.

Passionista will be available in venues and bottleshops across Australia with a full list of stockists to come soon.

To celebrate the beer’s return, the Camperdown brewery is hosting a tap takeover all weekend long from November 13th to 15th.

The brew team will pack the Wayward taps with as many versions of their beloved Berliner Weisse as possible. Expect varieties like: raspberry lassi, pineapple, blueberry, peach iced tea, cucumber and mango.


Mornington Free | Mornington Peninsula Brewery

Mornington Peninsula Brewery has announced the release of its first no-alcohol beer.

Morning Free (<0.5% abv) is an American Pale Ale style beer, which Mornington says is fermented with a special yeast that produces esters instead of regular alcohol.

The new brew is available now from independent bottleshops, with a list of stockists available from the Tribe Breweries website.


Pulp Fusion | TWØBAYS Brewing Co.

TWØBAYS Brewing Co. has launched Australia’s first gluten-free sour beer, Pulp Fusion (3.5% abv).

The passionfruit sour is brewed with a German-style yeast strain similar to a Berliner Weisse, along with passionfruit pulp and gluten free grains.

“It’s great to be able to offer the gluten-free community a style of beer that they would not have otherwise had a chance to try,” said head brewer Kristian Martin.

Pulp Fusion is available now from TWØBAYS online store and will be available from indie bottleshops from early November.


Lime and Pomegranate Sour | Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.

Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.’s second installment in its Summer Sour series is a lime and pomegranate sour (4.0% abv) with the addition of dragonfruit.

The sour is available from midday, November 6th at the brewpub or online.


Ultra Pale Lager and Classic Pale Ale | UpFlow Brewing Co.

UpFlow Brewing Co., a Melbourne-based alcohol-free craft brewery, has released a range of hypotonic sports beers.

The “rehydration non-alcoholic beers” come as an Ultra Pale Lager and a Classic Pale Ale.

The new beers are available online in 12 or 24 can packs.
