The Melbourne-based brewery scores first NSW stockist, Beer Cartel, offering delivery Australia-wide
Independent brewery Burnley Brewing is now available for the first time ever off the shelves in New South Wales, and for delivery Australia-wide. Four of the brewery’s beers are now available from Beer Cartel’s online shop and Artarmon store.
Named by Ale of a Time podcast as the brewery to watch in 2019, Burnley Brewing’s flagship Pale Ale, Vienna Lager, Summer Ale, and Coffee Brown Ale with These Days Coffee Roasting hit the shelves and online store this week.
Burnley Brewing’s Flagship Pale Ale is a fresh, hop driven crusher, packed with Galaxy, Cascade and Citra hops and served in a 440ml can, saving you trips to the esky. The Vienna Lager has toasty, biscuit aromas, and is a celebration of the fine details of great beer. Their Summer Ale is crisp and refreshing, capturing the essence of the season into one can, and their Coffee Brown Ale with These Days Coffee Roasting is malty sweet with stone fruit aromas from single origin Ethiopian beans.
Burnley Brewing launched with a splash in the nearby Yarra River with the opening of their brewpub, The Burnley, in late 2017. The brewing team, headed by Michael Stanzel, creates bold, distinctive, and true-to-style beers from both their 500L in-house brew system, from which beers are served directly, and their 10,000L production brewery offsite.
Stanzel was the first Australian to attain the Brewer and Maltster apprenticeship accreditation exclusive to the German brewing scene, where he lived and established his own independent brewery with wife Chloe Hoiberg, called The Wild Animal Brewing Co. The couple then returned home to Melbourne, where they have worked at Burnley Brewing since its inception in 2017.
Cans are available from Beer Cartel’s Artarmon store, or online at beercartel.com.au. Information about other stockists can be found on Burnley Brewing’s Instagram, @BurnleyBrewing.
