Lion selling major assets from closing West End
Lion, which last year announced it would be closing its West End Brewery in South Australia, has appointed plant closure firm Hilco Global APAC to sell its major assets.
Major assets from the brewery, which was given a $70 million refurbishment 2015, are now available for immediate sale, with offers being accepted globally. A statement from Hilco said strong interest is expected from within the brewing community in addition to the broader food and beverage sector on this sale.
“With a fully functioning 500- hectolitre commercial brewery including keg, can, bottle filling and packing lines, we are confident in our team partnering with FA Maker on this project,” Adrian Paley, Head of Commercial & Industrial at Hilco Global APAC said in the release.
“We expect significant interest in the major assets at this site, and as a local team it’s an honour to be trusted to find the right buyers for the major assets that are in existing use and give these assets new homes.”
Assets for sale include:
- a 500hl Steinecker Brewhouse, circa 2015
- beer filtration
- canning, bottling and keg lines
- cider fermentation and filtration
- Raw material handling and storage
