Local not-for-profit the inGrained Foundation has extended the application deadline for its Northern Rivers Large Grants Program 2020 from 9th April to Thursday 21st May, to help prospective applicants adapt to new conditions and challenges brought about by COVID-19.

Launched Thursday 12th March, the Northern Rivers Large Grants Program 2020 invites Northern Rivers not-for-profits with DGR status to apply for a grant between $10,000 and $30,000 to help boost their social and environmental projects in our region.

With $100,000 funding pool in total, the Grants Program asks applicants to show how their projects contribute to ‘regeneration and social connection’–this year’s theme.

In a move to support local not-for-profits with DGR status interested in applying a grant, the in Grained Foundation has extended the application deadline to Thursday 21 May.

inGrained Foundation director James Perrin said his team hoped the additional six weeks would provide prospective applicants with extra time to adapt.

“While the inGrained Foundation has been amazed by our community’s ability to adapt and innovate under the new conditions, we also know it’s a time of great disruption for many local not-for-profits whose work will be impacted by the restrictions,” James said.

“We hope this deadline extension will provide applicants the space to adjust their work and projects to the conditions, as well as their grant applications if necessary.”

James also said the ‘regeneration & social connection’ theme would remain the same because “now more than ever, we believe in the power of strengthened, resilient communities that look out for each other.”

Prospective applicants are encouraged to read the updated guidelines on the inGrained Foundation website or contact the foundation on hello@ingrainedfoundation.com.au or 02 6685 5173 with any questions.

Last year’s Grants Program recipients were local not-for-profits SHIFT Project, Shaping Outcomes and Bangalow Koalas, who shared $60,000 worth of funding for their projects that helped ‘create connection’–2019’s theme–in our region.

Founded as a separate national not-for-profit by Stone & Wood in 2018, the inGrained Foundation works to attract, generate and direct donations to grassroots Northern Rivers charities to assist capacity-building in the region.

After donating over$750,000 to charities since 2013, the local brewery calls the foundation the ‘nextstep’ in its community program.
