IBA announces departure of CEO
The IBA has announced the departure of its Chief Executive Officer and the relocation of its head office to Melbourne.
Departing CEO, Alexis Roitman, was appointed to the role in May last year just as the association unveiled its Independence Logo and oversaw the development of its labelling guidelines and merger with Good Beer Week.
In an email to IBA members Board Chair Jamie Cook thanked Ms Roitman for her service and wished her well in her future endeavours.
Originally trained as a corporate lawyer, Roitman had 15 years’ experience in peak industry associations in Australia prior to joining the IBA. She had worked in senior leadership roles within numerous state and national industry groups, as well as consulting on industry affairs as Managing Director of Canvass, the agency she established in 2008.
The IBA announcement advised that the association’s board will be reviewing the requirements of the executive office over the next few months.
“In the meantime, I will be working closely with Kate Paterson (Head of Industry Development), Siobhan Kerin (Head of Events), Jason Sommers (Event Manager) and Sophie Taylor (Public Affairs Manager) to implement our plans,” Jamie Cook’s statement advised.
The IBA also announced that its merger with Good Beer Week is close to being finalised, with the merged team relocating to a new location above Beer Mash at Level 3/306 Smith Street, Collingwood VIC 3066.
