Homebrew conference with extra cheese
The Inaugural Queensland Homebrewing Conference will be held in Brisbane on Saturday, 05 November 2011. The conference is a one day event based at the Southbank Institute of Technology, and followed by a Beer and Food Matching Dinner on Saturday evening.
In an exciting addition to the line-up of great locally produced craft beers available at the Conference, MT Brewery will now be providing beers for sampling during the day. Callum Osborne, fresh from his intensive brewing course, will be offering up two great
beers – the Rainforest Lager, a 4.3% German Lager style, and a recently released 5% Bavarian Wheat.
Perhaps even more exciting is that Witches Chase (sister operation to MT Brewery) will be offering us a Cheese Course for the Beer and Food Matching dinner. Meredith from Witches Chase has selected two cheeses to match a Belgian Tripel being brewed especially for the occasion. The two cheeses – Labour Intensive Wash Rind, and Farmhouse Clothbound Cheddar are full flavoured, prize winning cheeses. Full details of these cheeses will be available on the Conference website.
With the addition of the cheese course, the Beer and Food Matching Dinner will now expand to four courses and five beers – a fantastic culinary exploration of the finer qualities of craft brewed beers and the excellent food they can be matched with.
