GABS ups Hottest 100 game with billboards

The organisers of the GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beers have promised the consumer poll will be bigger than ever this year and have invested in billboards across the country to promote voting.

Voting opened for GABS earlier this month and it looks set to be the biggest yet after a record number of entries as brewers got busy during this year’s COVID-19 lockdowns.

GABS managing director Mike Bray, who acquired the Hottest 100 along with the GABS Festivals last year, said they were upping their game this year.

“GABS is going loud and proud this year and putting craft beer on 24 billboards across the country, asking drinkers to vote for their favourite craft beers,” Bray said.

The competition for the country’s most popular craft beer is already hotting up as brewers nationwide encourage their fans to vote.

“It’s awesome to see breweries engaging and how creative some are getting,” Bray said.

However, the promotional and sales benefits that come with inclusion in the top 100, has seen brewers actively campaigning to mobilise their communities. The organisers have issued a timely reminder about the rules around offering incentives, whether it is free beer or other rewards for having voted.

“In the spirit of GABS in its 13th year, this is a gentle reminder that there is only one rule, not to provide incentives for people to vote,” said Bray.

“We ask that everyone adhere to this, as we’d hate to see anyone disqualified.”

Voting closes on 15th January. By voting, you will be entered into the draw to win 11 Single Session tickets to attend GABS Festival 2021 in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
