A Brisbane fundraiser for the breweries impacted by last month’s floods has raised $17,500.

Along with a host of other events in both Queensland and New South Wales to support those communities affected by the flooding, The Great Brown LemonAID was held at Easy Times Brewing Co. last week.

The $17,500 raised at the event will be shared equally between the impacted breweries: Parched, BrewTide, Range, Newstead, Milton Common, Fonzie Abbott, Craft’d Grounds, and distillery Grandad Jack’s.

Co-owner of Easy Times, Russell Steele, thanked all those that had been involved.

“Together the Brisbane Beer community raised an incredible $17.5K which will flow directly to our crafty mates.

“To avoid any concerns about transparency, Easy Times had an independent accounting firm review all the proceeds and conduct an audit before transmitting the funds.

“We couldn’t have pulled off an epic day of beery goodness without the hard working crew at Easy Times Brewing Co. and Social Tacos who are still busy getting the brewpub and cold room back in order for the season opening Brisbane Lions home game this weekend.”

And help has come from across the country as breweries and their communities continue with clean-ups and assessing the damage.

Hop Nation has launched a special Communitinnies 12 pack featuring craft beers from across Victoria, with all proceeds going to flood relief efforts in NSW and QLD.

Stone & Wood also held a Byron Bay & Brisbane Flood Relief Fundraiser last week, and raised $25,075 in funds which will go towards Orange Sky Australia, a not-for-profit working in affected areas to provide support and essentials to communities.

The Heads of Noosa team also helped out at the Gympie Flood Thank You Party, as did Ballistic Beer, Black Flag Brewery, BrewDog, Tribe, Wayward and 10 Toes.

And Two Mates Brewing has been aided by a number of breweries as well as the local community during their clean up, and has launched a GoFundMe to help them get back on their feet.

The IBA has also posted a resources page for breweries with more information, and announced that Gage Roads has also reached out to offer help for any flood affected breweries who may be in need of lab support for chemistry testing, including abv testing.
