BentSpoke yesterday announced the launch of its new limited-release can, Cluster 8.
One of the breweries highest-geared beers, this Imperial IPA will be tapped around the country for the very first time.
This is a limited one-keg-per-venue release.
We can also announce that this beer will be appearing in stores as a very limited packaged (canned) release in mid-September.
Until now, Cluster 8 has almost always only been available from BentSpoke’s BrewPub in the Canberra suburb of Braddon. Today it’s going on tap in 22 dedicated craft beer venues in Queensland, NSW, the
ACT, and Victoria.
Featuring a hop-eclectic bill of Galaxy, Citra, Mosaic, Centennial, Simcoe and Amarillo hops, an IBU assessed as “unmeasurable”, and a whopping 8.8 per cent ABV, Cluster 8 is a huge beer by anyones measure.
Head Brewer and Owner Richard Watkins said that this IIPA balances super resiny, fruity, tropical pine and passionfruit hop aromas with a solid clean palate.
“Be careful it can get away from you!”
The packaged beer release will be a very limited run going to select bottle stores across the Australian east coast.
“With the limited batch size we expect the cans are going to fall into ‘hard to get’ territory, but we know it’s going to be well worth it for the folks who can find it,” Watkins said.
A list of venues offering Cluster 8 on tap can be found here.
Bottle shops offering Cluster 8 in packaged form will be listed on the BentSpoke website in mid-September and promoted via social media.
