Beerfarm is thrilled to welcome WA local and international culinary talent, Hayden Vink, who has joined the crew today as its head chef. Hayden’s arrival coincides with major investments into Beerfarm including the build of a new fully-purposed kitchen.
Hayden joins Beerfarm from extended international culinary experiences across several high-end restaurants in France and Portugal. He’ll look to bring his experience of European cuisine, along with his penchant for Southeast Asian flavours, to build new dishes whilst retaining Beerfarm’s strong menu that has already been curated over several years.
Key for Hayden is to celebrate the Southwest by ensuring local produce and ingredients are showcased. Hayden said: “For me, the plan is clear: maintain the quality of food using local produce that we all know and love, build on it with tantalising specials, and redesign the seasonal menu to keep things fresh and exciting for our patrons.”
The arrival of Hayden and the new purpose-built kitchen at Beerfarm comes at a time where domestic, national and international tourism to the Margaret River Region is returning and bringing more opportunities for the local community. Beerfarm sees Hayden’s arrival and its new kitchen as an opportunity to bring the blend of international and local food and beverage.
In 2022-23, 11.9 million visitors came to WA and spent $16.8 billion including more than half for regional WA – 24% ahead of pre-COVID levels and 18% ahead of national levels, according to Tourism WA.
Emma Locke, General Manager for Beerfarm said: “Whilst we’ve come a long way from the simple food truck when we started out in 2015, the approach has always been the same: we make great quality food and beer that is fresh, accessible and consistent. We do this by combining our passion for beer and food with our desire to create a family, friendly vibe that attracts and welcomes all walks of life. We also take a lot of pride in supporting our local producers and drawing upon the produce we grow on the land where possible. Hayden wants to maintain that essence so we’re thrilled to have him driving the show.”
