Beer lovers challenged to put passion into practice
James Squire gives beer lovers the chance to create their own draught beer with ‘You Brew’ competition August 2013 – Leading Australian craft brewer James Squire is offering beer lovers the chance to put their passion into practice and explore a world of flavour with the aptly named ‘You Brew’ brewing competition.
Running over two months, ‘You Brew’ will see teams of aspiring brewers from around Australia go head-to head in a competition to create their own unique and flavoursome beer.
The competition which launches on August 29 will run in conjunction with the five James Squire Brew Bars located across Australia. Three local teams in each state will be selected to join their local Craft Beer Ambassador for a full day of brewing at their local James Squire Brew House, actually creating their own unique beer for judging at the series finale. The winning beer will be brewed and available on tap in the winners’ local James Squire brew bar.
“We are really excited about the You Brew competition which is a first for James Squire. This is an opportunity for beer lovers to really get hands on with their passion and explore the unique creative and technical process of brewing,” said Malt Shovel Head Brewer, Jeff Potter.
Beer lovers can nominate themselves for competition entry via the James Squire website, where they will be asked to supply details about their taste preferences and perfect brew.
Entries for people 18 and over are now open and close on September 16 via the James Squire website – www.jamessquire.com.au/youbrew.
‘You Brew’ will run through the following James Squire Brew Bars across Australia:
New South Wales: The Squire’s Maiden, Newcastle
