Slipstream unveils $1.5 million brewpub plans

Slipstream Brewing founders Deale and Elisa Stanley-Hunt have unveiled plans for a $1.5m extension and upgrade of their Brisbane brewpub, significantly expanding their hospitality offering as well as boosting production capacity to meet increasing customer demand.

Inspired by the world-class brewpubs across America, the Stanley-Hunts have taken over the industrial mechanics at the front of their brewery in Yeerongpilly and over the next three months will transform it into a welcoming and family-friendly venue for the local community to enjoy.

The new brewpub will be integrated into the existing brewery space enabling visitors to get up close and personal with the inner workings of the brewery and the brewers in action.

There will be indoor and outdoor dining for 250 people and the full industrial kitchen, complete with pizza oven and smoker, will ensure a superb menu of Californian-inspired dishes that are seasonal and light to match Brisbane’s warm, sub-tropical climate.

The kitchen team have already started planning the menu, which will feature an array of locally sourced ingredients, wood-fired pizzas, smoked meats and fresh seafood.

“The new brewpub, which has been made possible by our partnership with Mighty Craft, is on schedule to open at the end of February. We are proud to be making some of the most sessionable and accessible craft beers available, and we’re excited by the opportunities this new facility provides us to introduce more people to the Slipstream range,” said Deale & Elisa.

In line with the changes happening at the venue, the Stanley-Hunts have also unveiled a new look and feel across their packaging.

Keeping the striking elements of the current branding, they’ve given the red and white Slipstream logo a subtle update and retained the colours, typography and illustrations that identify each beer in the core range.

They’ve also added the tagline ‘Pure Flavour’ and incorporated it across all brand touchpoints.

“We wanted to keep the key elements of the current packaging and a similar Slipstream handwriting across the products, and the new branding achieves all of this. Our beers have always been brewed with no tricks, bells or whistles. It’s all about the flavour and we wanted to convey this clearly on the new packaging,” they said.

Slipstream Brewing has also launched a new core range beer. Called Regatta Lager, it is a modern lager based on the Helles-style lagers of Germany.

Fresh bread aromas and light herbal hops embrace the senses. Soft and moreish in the mouth with the malt leading the initial flavour before a balanced bitterness follows.

“We’re excited to add this refreshing pale lager to our core range. With its crisp and easy-drinking flavour, it’s a perfect addition to our family and is set to become one of our most popular beers this summer,” said Deale & Elisa.

Slipstream Brewing will also host an array of special events throughout the year including Beer Masterclasses, Meet the Brewer Sessions, and Beer Dinners and Festivals, giving customers the
chance to get up close and personal with the founders and makers.

Slipstream Brewing’s new brewpub will open in February 2021. It is located at 94 Wilkie Street, Yeerongpilly, QLD.
