NZ Hops hires new North America manager

NZ Hops Ltd has appointed Meagen Anderson to the role of business development manager, North America.

Meagen Anderson of NZ Hops

Anderson has a strong beer background. She joined Boston Beer Company as an account manager based in Fort Worth, Texas in 2007.

Over the next nine years, her roles expanded from district manager to regional manager responsible for Texas, Louisiana and Missouri. In 2013, she took the reins of a new national role with Boston Beer as education manager, building content and training systems across retail and chain and independent customers.

Anderson is a certified Cicerone and BCJP judge.

In 2017, she moved to Mill 95, a start-up business focused on the commercial processing and storage of hops, leading the portfolio, brand and sales strategy there.

In 2019, Anderson relocated to Michigan to be closer to family and secured a new role as business development manager for Kalsec, a producer of natural spice and herb flavour extracts, including advanced hop products.

NZ Hops chief executive Craig Orr said: “Meagen’s accountabilities will broadly be to deliver our region sales targets, revise and manage the distributor and direct sales channels, build NZ Hops’ brand awareness and penetration into the North American brewing industry, drive the North American marketing and brewer education programmes and finally to drive the oils extract sales program, in partnership with TNS.”

He said the appointment was a signal of “our intentions to not only support our brand in North America but to also grow it. This is a milestone appointment for NZ Hops Ltd and signals a real concerted effort to become more relevant with the brewer community stateside.”
