Two Birds and Western Bulldogs Join Forces for 2019
Following a highly successful first season together, Two Birds Brewing and the Western Bulldogs AFLW team have renewed their partnership for the 2019 season.
The 2018 partnership was recognised for bringing together the ‘Daughters of the West’ and Australia’s first female owned brewery, culminating in the launch of the Trail Blazer Aussie Lager – a beer released to celebrate the new partnership, as well as the organisations’ shared values of mateship, winning spirit, commitment, hard work, effort and passion.
In 2019, Two Birds will return to VU Whitten Oval for all of the Western Bulldogs’ AFLW home games, starting in Round 2 against Geelong on Saturday, February 9.
Footy lovers will be able to once again enjoy the Trail Blazer Aussie Lager in a can, as well as an additional two new beers in can format. The widely popular Two Birds Pale and Passion Victim Summer Ale will join the line up at every bar around the ground.
Two Birds co-owner Danielle Allen said it was a wonderful honour to partner with the Bulldogs again, particularly given their success in winning the 2018 AFLW premiership.
“To be a part of the 2018 season and to see the team we love so much making it all the way to the Grand Final was incredibly special for the Two Birds flock, and we’re so excited to cheer the girls on once again in 2019,” Allen said.
“We know the supporters loved it too, so we’re proud to have our beers front and centre at VU Whitten Oval for all three home games in the new season.”
Western Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains said the Club was thrilled to continue its close partnership with Two Birds.
“We were fortunate to have enjoyed a strong first year working closely with Danielle and Jayne – two locals who have done wonderful things with their business, which is based only a short distance from VU Whitten Oval,” Bains said.
“It was a proud moment for us to help launch Two Birds’ Trail Blazer lager for our AFLW games last season, and it was hugely popular with our members and fans.
“We’re excited to continue this partnership for another season and we look forward to building it even further.”
Western Bulldogs AFLW player Nicole Callinan said that the playing group are incredibly grateful for the support received from Two Birds.
“We aim to create a festival atmosphere at our AFLW home games at VU Whitten Oval, so it’s great that our members and fans can enjoy a Two Birds Trail Blazer lager during their match day experience,” Callinan said.
“The Two Birds’ values certainly resonate with our tight-knit group, so it’s great to continue the relationship with a like-minded partner.”
As a special offer for loyal Western Bulldogs supporters, Two Birds is offering a pot of beer on the house to celebrate the continued partnership.
Any Western Bulldogs AFL or AFLW club member can present their card at The Two Birds Nest in Spotswood for their free first beer, each time they visit the birds!
