Sunshine Coast bar turning brewpub
Blackwater Trading Co in Caloundra on the SunshineCoast will soon be brewing its own beers on site.
Owners Matt and Sharynne Wilson are launching Moffat Beach Brewing Co as the vehicle for homebrewer Matt’s own creations.
“I’ve got four that I’m going to launch with. There’ll be an American Pale Ale, an ESB, ‘The Passenger’ – an Australian-style Pale Ale hopped with Ella and Galaxy, and an Amber IPA,” Wilson told Australian Brews News.
“One of the things that we’re big on here is we rotate the beers that we’ve got, so I’ll be trying new and different things all the time.”
The Wilsons will be installing a 300-litre system at Blackwater Trading Co, supplied by Beverage & Brewing Consulting, which they hope will be up and running by the end of September.
Wilson said he has no intention of wholesaling the Moffat Beach beers at this stage. The bar’s current six taps will likely be expanded to eight to accommodate them.
“We’ll definitely still support the other breweries that have supported us,” he said.
